Step-by-step guide

Add the steps involved:

  1. Need to have a Transaction email Created. Magento: How to Create a Transactional Email
  2. Click on the System Menu and select Configuration (Bottom option) 
  3. Scroll down and find Customer Configuration 
  4. Click on Create New Account Options. 
  5. Select a created template from the drop down for Default Welcome Email and Welcome email.
